Carol Carpenter, an award winning professional artist, has been exhibiting her paintings since the 1970's, and teaching painting to seniors at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland for over thirty years. She is a graduate of Antioch University with a dual major in Art and Psychology.

Carpenter's painting style is considered abstract-expressionism. She is an intuitive painter who utilizes color, form and texture to redefine and create new images found in nature. She is a multi-media artist and uses oil, acrylic, watercolor and ink on a variety of surfaces to convey meaning, enhance visual awareness, and stimulate the imagination of the viewer. The current theme of her work is, Vistas: Balancing Imagination and Reality.

She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in galleries and museums in Maryland, Delaware, Florida and New York. She is a member of a number of art organizations. Her paintings have been favorably reviewed by the Baltimore Sun, the Washington Post, the Columbia Flier, the Cape Gazette, and the Howard County Maryland cable television network.
